Online harassment of Jamala begins

Yesterday evening, the final of the national selection for the “Eurovision 2017” contest took place, with the group O. Torvald winning. The group came in second place in both the jury and public voting, but secured first place overall based on the combined score.

However, another contender for victory - MELOVIN, who received the highest number of public votes, was sunk by the jury’s scores, leaving him with no chance of winning whatsoever.

The lowest score for MELOVIN was given by Jamala. This sparked a genuine harassment campaign against the artist on social media. Jamala was subjected to a storm of criticism and insults. Fans of the singer who supported her yesterday are now calling for her performances to be ignored today.

Jamala herself is not reacting to the offensive remarks. However, she has prudently closed her social media pages.

It is worth noting that last year, at the “Eurovision 2016” contest, the performer also won in a similar manner: she came in second place in both the jury and public voting, but won after the scores were combined, bringing the contest to our country.
