Ukraine to liquidate KRAIL: functions to be transferred to the Ministry of Digital Transformation

The Ukrainian government has made a final decision to liquidate the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL). This was announced by People's Deputy and First Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial, Tax and Customs Policy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

Mandates transferred to the Ministry of Digital Transformation

According to Zheleznyak, the functions of the liquidated commission will now be transferred to the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Consequently, the Ministry's staffing will increase by 24 employees – exactly the number of positions cut at KRAIL.

Budget reallocation

Funding will also undergo changes: part of the funds previously allocated for KRAIL's operations will be reallocated to the Ministry of Digital Transformation. This concerns 14.3 million hryvnias, which will now be directed towards fulfilling the new regulatory functions.
