Attack on Territorial Recruitment Centre member in Piryatin

An armed incident occurred in Poltava Oblast, resulting in the death of a military personnel member of a territorial recruitment centre.

According to the Ground Forces, the attack took place at a petrol station in Piryatin while a group of mobilised individuals was being escorted to a training centre. An unidentified individual wearing a balaclava and pixel-pattern trousers approached the serviceman, threatening him with a hunting rifle and demanding he hand over his weapon. After being refused, the attacker opened fire, fatally wounding the serviceman.

The perpetrator then took the deceased's assault rifle and fled the scene, taking one of the mobilised individuals with him. A search for the suspect is currently underway.
