Series of terrorist attacks planned in Kharkiv

Today, on Forgiveness Sunday, during a peaceful rally marking the first anniversary of the victory of the Revolution of Dignity in Kharkiv, an explosion occurred. Several people  were killed, and another around 10 were injured, and this is only preliminary data. As it turned out, several terrorist attacks were planned, but the others were successfully prevented.

Як ми уже повідомляли, Служба безпеки України затримала чотирьох осіб, які можуть бути причетними до підготовки та скоєння злочинів терористичної спрямованості у Харкові, в т.ч. вибуху, в результаті якого загинуло 2 і поранено 8 громадян. (As we have already reported, the Security Service of Ukraine detained four individuals who may be involved in the preparation and commission of crimes of a terrorist nature in Kharkiv, including an explosion as a result of which 2 citizens were killed and 8 were injured.)

На самому місці злочину працюють фахівці СБУ, МВС, представники прокуратури. Здійснюються невідкладні слідчі дії. (SBU, Ministry of Internal Affairs specialists, and prosecutors' representatives are working at the scene of the crime. Urgent investigative actions are being carried out.)

Хочу повідомити, що у Харкові 22 лютого готувалася низка терористичних актів. (I want to inform you that a series of terrorist acts was being prepared in Kharkiv on February 22.)

Зокрема, департаменту контррозвідки у співпраці з управлінням СБУ в Харківській області вдалося упередити терористичний акт, за якими стоїть терористична організація "Харківські партизани". (Specifically, the Counterintelligence Department, in cooperation with the SBU Directorate in Kharkiv Oblast, managed to prevent a terrorist act behind which stands the terrorist organisation "Kharkiv Partisans".)

Схоплено під час спроби здійснити злочин чотирьох осіб, які готували обстріл з реактивного піхотного вогнемету "Шміль" клубу, де часто збираються воїни АТО і волонтери, а також одного з торгівельних центів міста. Планувалися й інші диверсійні та терористичні заходи. (Four individuals were apprehended while attempting to commit a crime; they were preparing to shelling a club where ATO fighters and volunteers often gather, as well as one of the city's shopping centres, using a "Shmel" rocket-propelled infantry flamethrower. Other sabotage and terrorist measures were also planned.)

Вилучений "Шміль" російського виробництва. За свідченнями затриманих, він був отриманий ватажком групи в Бєлгороді (Російська Федерація). (The seized "Shmel" is of Russian manufacture. According to the statements of the detained individuals, it was obtained by the group leader in Belgorod (Russian Federation).)

У зв'язку з вибухом та спробами вчинити інші терористичні акти, Служба безпеки України оголосила найвищий рівень антитерористичної готовності у Харкові. (In connection with the explosion and attempts to commit other terrorist acts, the Security Service of Ukraine declared the highest level of counter-terrorism readiness in Kharkiv.)

Силовиками у тісній взаємодії проводяться естрені і широкомасштабні контртерористичні заходи (Law enforcement agencies are conducting urgent and large-scale counter-terrorism measures in close cooperation)”, - reported Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine Mykytan Lubkivskyi from his internet page.
