Smell of smoke also detected in Dnipro

Following Kyiv, smoke has begun to envelop other Ukrainian cities. However, in many towns, the cause of the haze is mundane – residents have started burning fallen leaves, resulting in others choking on smog.

Meanwhile, in Dnipro, certain panic-mongers are spreading several versions of the origin of the smoke:

·         the aftermath of an explosion at a chemical plant;

·         chemicals exploded and are burning in the city of Zoloti Vody;

·         a uranium mine exploded in Apostolove;

·         the explosion occurred in Dnipro itself, and so on.

In reality, none of these versions correspond to the truth. There was no explosion in Dnipro or in any nearby cities in the region. This is confirmed by both law enforcement officials and residents of the aforementioned cities.
