Ukrainian forces breach defensive line in Kursk region

Ukrainian forces have breached the defensive line in the Kursk region and advanced up to five kilometres into Russian territory. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported the development.

During a mechanised offensive, Ukrainian Armed Forces units advanced in a south-easterly direction from the city of Sudzha.

According to ISW data, Ukrainian units have established themselves on the south-western approaches to Mahnivka and have taken up positions to the north and east of the settlement of Cherkasivka Konopelka, located on the Sudzha–Oboyan axis. As a result, the villages of Kolmakiv and Fanaseivka have come under their control.

Combat operations in this area are ongoing.
