Today, 25 November, Turkish fighter jets shot down a Russian military aircraft that violated the country's airspace.
The pilot of the "lost" Su-24 received several warnings before Turkish fighter jets F16, scrambled on alert, opened fire on it.
The aircraft identified itself as both Russian and Syrian.
The two-person crew, managed to eject before the aircraft crashed in the territory of neighbouring Syria, bordering Turkey.
Over the past month, Russianaircraft have repeatedly violated Turkish airspace and failed to respond to warnings.
