Ukrainian media continue to earn from advertising for Russian casinos

Despite the ban, some major Ukrainian media outlets continue to place ads for Russian gambling platforms. 

For instance, advertising for the poker room Pokerdom, registered in Moscow, was found on the websites of Tribuna and Liga.net. Meanwhile, Liga.net uses circumvention mechanisms, such as VPNs, which means Ukrainian users do not see such advertising materials.

Similar cases have been recorded on less well-known niche resources. 

However, the regulatory body KRAIL, as journalists note, preferred to penalise small regional publications rather than major players in the media market last year. One such example was a fine of 2.13 million hryvnia issued to a local newspaper in Lutsk.
