Ukraine faces epidemic of deadly flu

A deadly flu is currently raging across Ukraine, threatening to turn into a full-blown epidemic. People are dying from the disease daily. Meanwhile, neither the Ministry of Health nor local authorities are taking any action; instead, they are actively trying to avoid disclosing the scale of the disaster.

For example, in Kharkiv, city authorities have refused to acknowledge a flu epidemic of H1N1; moreover, the epidemic threshold is allegedly within normal limits. According to official information, only two people have died in the city from pneumonia, so there is no reason for panic, and introducing quarantine even in educational institutions is considered pointless.
