It turns out that the recipe for the famous Dubai chocolate was invented by a mother on maternity leave.

While pregnant, Sara Hamouda dreamed of knafeh — an Eastern dessert — but in bar form. She had never made chocolate before, but her desire to create something unique proved stronger, and she began culinary experiments.

Initially, the recipe for last year’s most viral dessert included goat cheese, date syrup, rose water, and orange blossom. However, the result was the very recipe that everyone is now replicating. Thus was born the chocolate Cant Get Knafeh of It (FIX), which later became known as Dubai chocolate.

At first, the product did not sell very well, but everything changed when a popular blogger filmed an ASMR video on TikTok trying the dessert. Since then, the chocolate has “taken off” in popularity. The FIX team now employs 50 people, and the brand recently entered into a partnership with Lindt.
