Intelligence has not proven Russia's involvement in cable damage

US and European intelligence services have found no evidence linking Russia to the damage of cables on the seabed of the Baltic Sea, The Washington Post reports.

The incidents in question occurred over the past year and a half — in October 2023, and in November and December 2024.

Intelligence gathered indicates that the incidents were caused by errors and the lack of qualification of the crews of poorly maintained vessels that do not meet safety standards.
