Proper nutrition has a comprehensive positive effect on the human body. A number of foods can help preserve vision and prevent its deterioration for many years. The key is to include them in your diet.

List of foods for eye health

Nutritionists include the following beneficial foods in their recommendations:

·         Fatty sea fish. It contains a high amount of essential Omega-3 fatty acids. These acids prevent the drying out of the eye mucosa, warn against the development of cataracts, retinal detachment, and general vision impairment. Fish is recommended to be consumed at least once a week. In this case, a person will not need to buy optics online in Kyiv where lenses, glasses, and other related products are available.

·         Avocado. The fruit has an antioxidant effect, lowers blood cholesterol levels, and protects against ultraviolet rays and the harmful impact of dangerous substances on the eyes. Avocado is recommended to be included in the daily diet. The fruit should not be subjected to heat treatment. It is added to salads or spread on toasts.

·         Carrots. The vegetable is rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene, which prevent eye diseases. Regular consumption of carrots helps avoid retinal damage and its dystrophy. The vegetable is recommended to be eaten slightly boiled or baked. In this form, it has the greatest effect.

·         Eggs. They are also rich in vitamin A. Egg yolk protects the eyes from ultraviolet rays, improves visual acuity, and prevents damage to retinal cells.

·         Green tea. The drink has an antioxidant effect. Tea contains flavonoids, which provide the retina with protection from ultraviolet rays. It is recommended to drink one cup of unsweetened tea a day. The drink is consumed in the first half of the day. It has a tonifying effect and may cause insomnia.

Liver, dairy products, greens, etc. also have a positive effect on eye health. However, this does not mean that the diet should consist only of these foods. Moderation is key in everything.
