Right Sector to join Ukrainian army after all

Negotiations between Right Sector leader Dmytro Yarosh and the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine command appear to have been successful.

As reported minutes ago, the Right Sector will indeed join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Yarosh has once again given his consent. However, it is not yet known when this will happen.

According to Andriy Tarana, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, "all questions regarding the voluntary entry as a separate unit of the Armed Forces at this stage have been resolved" (all questions regarding the voluntary entry as a separate unit of the Armed Forces at this stage have been resolved).

However, the integration of the Right Sector into the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not as smooth as it seems, as it requires amendments to the law, which deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are in no hurry to vote for.

"For a special status of the battalion within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, amendments to the law are necessary. Currently, this issue and the development of the mechanism are being resolved," says Artem Skorpatsky, press secretary of the Right Sector.
