Ukrainian Ambassador to Austria Tactfully Tells Off Russian Colleague

In less than two months, many countries around the world will mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War. Commemorative events and flower-laying ceremonies at monuments will be held in both former Soviet countries and Europe. If Ukraine previously commemorated the holiday jointly with Russia, the situation has now changed fundamentally.

 

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Austria wrote a letter to his Russian counterpart, informing him that this year the commemorative events would be held separately from Russian representatives.

 

Moreover, according to the ambassador, the path to reconciliation and Ukraine's forgiveness of Russia will be a long one.
