Poroshenko, Kolomoisky, Medvedchuk and others under NSDC sanctions: restrictions imposed indefinitely

The National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine has imposed strict sanctions on a number of prominent politicians and businesspeople, including Petro Poroshenko, Ihor Kolomoisky, Hennadiy Boholiubov, Konstantin Zhevgad, and Viktor Medvedchuk. 

The decision was signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky and enters into force immediately.

It is specifically emphasised that the sanctions have no time limit, meaning they are in effect indefinitely.

What restrictions are being introduced?

According to the document, sanctioned individuals face the following measures:

• Deprivation of state awards and honorary titles.
• Asset freeze — loss of the right to own, use, and dispose of property.
• Restriction or complete ban on trade operations.
• Ban on transit, transport, and flights through Ukrainian territory.
• Prohibition on capital outflow abroad.
• Suspension of the fulfilment of financial and economic obligations.
• Ban on participation in the privatisation and leasing of state property.
• Restriction of access to Ukraine's radio frequency spectrum.
• Ban on the purchase of land plots.
• Freeze of financial operations, including the conclusion of deals, payment of dividends, and trading in securities.

These measures are aimed at limiting the influence of oligarchs and curbing their economic and political activity in Ukraine.
