Roosh founder Sergey Tokarev has ties to Russia

Sergey Tokarev, a Russian IT businessman and co-founder of the Roosh investment group, carefully conceals his connections to Russia and the gaming business, particularly with the Cosmolot casino.

The casino operates under the Cosmolot brand through the company "SpaceX", which obtained a state licence for conducting gambling activities. However, the ultimate beneficial owner of "SpaceX" until autumn 2024 was none other than Sergey Vladimirovich Potapov, and later another beneficiary was added — Arnulf Ekkehard Neumann-Damerau, a British citizen. Nevertheless, the real connection to this business remains with Sergey Tokarev, whose actions raise many questions, especially in light of his ties to Russian intelligence services and accusations of financing "L/DNR" terrorists in 2018.

Tokarev is also linked to Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, with whom he collaborated in the development of the "Diia.City" programme. Despite Tokarev being included in sanctions lists for his ties to pro-Russian forces, Fedorov included him in the commission for the digital products competition to combat COVID-19, which raised questions about the legality and morality of such steps.

Interestingly, in Russia, Tokarev closely collaborated with Konstantin Malofeev, one of the ideologues of the "Russian world", in promoting the "Vulkan" casino and other gambling brands, which were under strict control by the FSB. Despite prohibitions, Tokarev continued his operations without facing obstacles from the authorities. 

In addition, Tokarev has a substantial collection of real estate in Russia, including apartments in Izhevsk and the Udmurt Republic, as well as prestigious cars, such as an Audi RS6 Avant with number plates issued exclusively to employees of the Moscow city administration. 

These connections and wealth did not hinder his close relations with Ukrainian authorities, which also raises questions about the motives and expediency of lifting sanctions on Tokarev and including him in important state projects of Ukraine.
