New SparkCat virus threatens iPhone users

Malware known as SparkCat is spreading across Apple devices, capable of stealing photos, passwords and passport details. This was reported by the publication Itechua.

The virus was detected in 20 fake applications listed on the App Store. They disguise themselves as popular services – messengers, AI assistants, delivery platforms and cryptocurrency exchange apps. 

Once installed, SparkCat gains access to photos, analyses text within images and transmits sensitive data to cybercriminals.

Experts note that this is the first such virus for iOS, whereas similar threats had previously been characteristic exclusively of Android devices.
