Netanyahu announces start of anti-terror operation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the launch of a new operation named "Iron Wall", aimed at combating terrorist threats in the West Bank, which is under the administration of the Palestinian Authority.

The head of government stated that the primary objective of this operation is to "strengthen security" in the region.

In recent years, Israel has repeatedly conducted military operations in the West Bank, claiming that the territory serves as a launchpad for Palestinian attacks. Such actions were particularly frequent during periods of escalation in the conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

It is worth recalling that recently Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on a ceasefire, as well as a deal on the exchange of hostages. However, this deal sparked discontent among Israeli far-right politicians, including members of the governing coalition.
