Explosives found on railway tracks near Dnipro

The press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs on the Prydniprovska Railway reported a terrifying discovery. Near the railway tracks between Dnipro and Novomoskovsk, an explosive device with a detonator was found.

 

"На 182 километре железнодорожного перегона станция Самаровка – станция Новомосковск Приднепровской железной дороги, в ящике для хранения шпал обнаружен подозрительный полиэтиленовый пакет желтого цвета, прямоугольной формы" (At the 182-kilometre mark of the railway section between Samarovka station and Novomoskovsk station on the Prydniprovska Railway, a suspicious yellow rectangular polyethylene bag was found in a box for storing sleepers), a railway track foreman told the police.

 

Law enforcement officers and bomb disposal experts who arrived at the scene examined the suspicious bag, which contained: a "MUV-2" explosive device with an MD-5 detonator, a block of TNT weighing approximately 400 g, and a container with homemade explosive material weighing approximately 2 kg.

 

The explosives were removed by bomb disposal experts. Railway traffic on this section has been restored. There were no casualties.

 

It is worth noting that this is the second case in recent times when explosives have been placed on the Prydniprovska Railway.
