In late November of the previous year, 2014,
the General Director of "Ukrzaliznytsia" Boris
Ostapyuk was dismissed from his post. The position has remained vacant to this day.
The main candidates for this role today are:
the director of one of Rinat Akhmetov's engineering companies, a graduate of Tulchyn State University, director of the Russian company "Karelsky Okatish" Yevhen
Romashyn;
Dina
Nemirovych, financial director of the pharmaceutical company "Farmak";
Russian citizen Daniyal Valk, who as late as September last year was the general
director of the North American division
of the "Interpipe" corporation, owned by Viktor Pinchuk. Prior to that, he headed the board of the
"Dniprospetsstal" plant, and
held the position of general
director of the distributor
of "Interpipe" products in Switzerland, worked at
the "Siberian-Ural Aluminium Company" and the trading company Marco

None of these candidates have a railway
education, and, as
you can imagine, all three are linked to Russia and oligarchs.
One hopes that such a strategic enterprise will not be
handed over to yet another Kremlin appointee.
