Removed manhole covers for sale on Donetsk classifieds

In recent months, Donetsk classifieds boards have seen a dramatic change in their assortment. If a year ago they were used to sell expensive items – fur coats, cars, jewellery and the like, now they are mostly filled with various old junk.

Browsing through the listings, among the second-hand items, you can even find a manhole cover that has been removed from somewhere.

 

«Продам крышку люка диаметр 59см толщина 2см, уши отломаны 100гр» (Selling a manhole cover, diameter 59cm, thickness 2cm, ears broken off, 100 hryvnias), reads one of the listings posted on OLX two days ago. The author, named Taras, did not mind the effort and even posted a photo of his “goods”. It is not hard to guess why the “ears” on the cover were broken off, but apparently this did not stop the enterprising resident of Donetsk from dismantling it.
