Medical workers and SAP staff granted mobilisation deferment

Ukraine has updated the rules for the deferment of military-liable persons, under which all medical workers have received full protection from mobilisation. Similar rights now extend to prosecutors of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).

Under the new regulations, employees of the healthcare sector are eligible for deferment if their primary place of work falls into one of the following categories:

— state and municipal healthcare institutions;
— public health organisations;
— institutions conducting forensic and forensic-psychiatric examinations;
— blood centres.

Consequently, medical professionals working in key state structures have received official exemption from conscription into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
