World's largest media outlets leave X

The world's leading media organisations, following universities, have decided to leave the social network X.

One of Belgium's largest newspapers, De Morgen, has decided to stop publishing posts on the social network X, owned by Elon Musk, citing "toxicity and the spread of disinformation on the platform".

This was announced by the newspaper's editor-in-chief, Rémi Amkreutz, in his column.

"Enough. Elon Musk's values are completely at odds with the principles of a democratic society and our own. We always put human rights first," he noted.

Amkreutz also emphasised that Elon Musk poses a threat to both the US and Europe.

"We no longer want to be part of a toxic platform where disinformation, conspiracy theories and racism spread without any control," he added.
