Ukrainian blogger Nikolz shared a story about receiving an email with a tempting offer. In it, unknown individuals proposed that he contact Kharkiv separatists, who fled to Russia in 2022, and consider options for cooperation.
How does the scheme work?
According to the blogger, Russian handlers monitor Ukrainian content and closely watch those who appear in recommendations on YouTube, TikTok and other platforms. If a video starts gaining views, its author is contacted via email or direct messages.
They are offered generous donations, but in return, they are required to create content aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian authorities, the army, and society.
How bloggers are drawn into the Kremlin's game
Often, the offers appear innocent: bloggers may be offered insider information or unique data for discussion. However, the cooperation gradually evolves into systematic work, and content creators become a mouthpiece for propaganda.
