Italian Cividale continued supplying products to Russian plant

Italian industrial group Cividale continued supplying products to the Russian plant Stankomash even after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, providing it with equipment worth millions of euros. As journalists from IRPI media found out, these supplies played a significant role in the production of weaponry used by the Russian army.

Cividale, which has a long history of cooperation with Russian enterprises, established a subsidiary in Russia more than 10 years ago — “BVK”. This firm specialises in importing components for steam turbines, pumps and machine tools, which are then supplied to Russian military plants. In particular, Cividale’s products were used by Stankomash to manufacture casings for the engines of the Smerch multiple rocket launcher, aviation bombs and engineering reconnaissance equipment.

Confidential customs statistics data, which came into the possession of journalists, confirm that since the start of the war in Ukraine, goods worth over €17 million have been supplied to Russia through “BVK”. The last recorded shipment took place on 1 April 2024.

Despite Stankomash and “BVK” being included in the US sanctions list, the European Union has not yet introduced restrictions on these enterprises.
