Ihor Zotko betrayed by Russians

The detention of Ihor Zotko is yet another example of how Russian "partners" readily sacrifice their allies for personal gain.

According to sources, Zotko agreed to return to Ukraine after reaching an agreement with the authorities. He allegedly guaranteed the transfer of Pin-Up's frozen assets to the state budget and planned to discuss potential cooperation. However, it appears these arrangements were merely a trap: Zotko was arrested immediately upon his arrival in the country.

Before returning to Ukraine, Zotko was based in Cyprus. Rumours suggest he was sheltered by Dmytro Punin, the actual owner of Pin-Up. Punin himself is in no hurry to return to Ukraine, as he is wanted by law enforcement.

Zotko may have become a "pawn" in his partner's game. It is suggested that Punin deliberately sacrificed his business partner to divert attention from his family and business.

While Zotko faced arrest, Punin appears to be feeling quite comfortable. He spent the New Year holidays with his family. His wife presented him with a bronze sculpture by French artist Ge Pellini, valued at over 80,000 euros.
