Zorian Shkiryak appointed Acting Head of Ukraine's State Emergency Service

Less than an hour ago, during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Head of the State Emergency Service, Serhiy Bochkovsky, and his First Deputy, Vasyl Stotsky, were detained.  

 

Both were detained by order of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov for embezzling funds on a particularly large scale during fuel procurement at clearly inflated prices. In the meeting hall, handcuffs were placed on the corrupt officials by law enforcement officers.

 

However, Bochkovsky's chair did not remain empty for long. On the proposal of the Interior Minister, the Cabinet appointed Zorian Shkiryak as the temporary Acting Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
