Elite development on Lake Svytiaz

The shoreline of Lake Svytiaz, where the state-run "Svytiaz" recreation base was previously located, has come into private hands. The area is now closed to public access, and an elite townhouse has been built on the site.

 The property owners are friends of Oleksandr Kvatyрко, the former head of the Volyn Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting, who is a subject of a criminal case.

Who gained access to the elite property?

Serhiy Stepaniuk – a lawyer and long-time friend of Kvatyрко, owns a part of the townhouse. In addition, he received 36,000 hectares of hunting grounds in Manevychi.

Stanislav Kurenda – a businessman and close associate of Kvatyрко, owns another part of the townhouse. He is also building his own cottage in the "Zubr" nature reserve near Lutsk.

Serhiy Tymoshchuk – received 10,000 hectares of hunting grounds in Kiverchy and is also a co-owner of the townhouse.

Oleksandr Veselevskyi – the former head of the "Odesa Forestry" branch, built a cottage in the "Vorotnev" nature reserve.

The development of protected areas and the allocation of hunting grounds to a narrow circle of individuals raise questions among the public. However, despite criminal cases and scandals, the situation remains unchanged.
