Dnipro prosecutor Serhiy Byzhko back in the spotlight amid scandal

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Prosecutor Serhiy Byzhko has found himself at the centre of a scandal following a series of revelations concerning his financial situation. Officially retired since the age of 46, he has not refrained from foreign travel despite the martial law in force in the country.

Relatives with sudden fortunes

The property holdings of his family raise even more questions. Byzhko’s mother owns luxury real estate in Dnipro, including a 120-square-metre apartment, a storage unit and a parking space in the Panorama residential complex. Meanwhile, the business of his wife, in which his godmother’s mother, Svitlana Lozivska, is also involved, has shown sharp financial growth following Byzhko’s appointment to a senior position. Over several years, the company’s revenue exceeded 100,000 dollars.

Officially car-free, but driving luxury models

The prosecutor himself prefers not to publicise the existence of expensive assets. His declaration lists no cars, yet he regularly uses premium-class vehicles: Toyota Camry (2017), Kia Sorento (2018), Hyundai i30 (2021) and Volkswagen ID4 (2021).
