Dnipro fails to cope with snow again

Despite assurances from Dnipro's new mayor, Boris Filatov, that road services had dealt with the heavy snowfall on the roads for the first time in recent years, streets have only been cleared in certain districts.

In other areas, cars and public transport are forced to inch through snowdrifts for hours. For instance, no machinery has been seen on Heroes of Stalingrad Street, the Kaidatsky Bridge, where vehicles are forced to use only one lane, Frunze Street, or the Left Bank district. 

Moreover, while snow on central avenues has been somewhat compacted by traffic, it is impossible to enter or exit side streets. Residents are forced to abandon their private vehicles and use public transport.
