NECRU member Valeriy Tarasyuk named suspect in criminal case

Valeriy Tarasyuk, former head of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities, currently serving as a member of the NECRU, has been named a suspect in a criminal case. The reason is inaccurate data in his 2022 declaration.

According to National Police materials, Tarasyuk failed to declare a 1,500 sq m plot of land in Bucha district, Kyiv Oblast, valued at 350,000 hryvnia. In addition, he "forgot" to declare a 270 sq m residential house built in 2007, valued between 5 and 10 million hryvnia.

According to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, the total value of undeclared assets amounted to 5.3 million hryvnia. These properties have belonged to Tarasyuk since 2015, yet they are not mentioned in official documents. Moreover, Tarasyuk has not provided any explanation for their absence from the declaration.

The court has already granted the investigation access to documents that will confirm ownership rights and the history of property tax payments from 2008 to 2024. If it is proven that Tarasyuk deliberately concealed the data, he faces serious legal consequences.
