Kyiv residents recently made an unexpected discovery when visiting one of the Epitsentr retail chain stores. It turned out that the shopping centre is guarded by National Guard of Ukraine troops.

On what basis are the military personnel serving as security for the chain? This question should presumably be addressed to Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, as the National Guard falls under the jurisdiction of his ministry.

Furthermore, the question arises as to who is paying for the National Guard troops' services and whose pocket these funds are going into?!
