Negotiations in the US on a peace plan

Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff released information on the results of a meeting held in Miami. Delegations from Ukraine and several European states were present at the negotiations. The main subject of discussion was options for ending the war on Ukrainian territory before the onset of winter.

Key aspects of the discussion

According to Witkoff, the dialogue covered a wide range of issues relating to both the current situation and the future of the region. Participants in the meeting examined the following areas in detail:

  • short-term measures aimed at winter preparation, specifically ensuring the resilience of energy infrastructure and organising grain exports;
  • the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine;
  • long-term security mechanisms for Ukraine and Europe, designed to prevent new conflicts;
  • support for post-war recovery and economic development, including the process of Ukraine's integration into the European Union.
«Переговори торкнулися широкого спектру тем: короткострокові заходи з підготовки до зими (стійкість енергосистеми та експорт зерна), гарантії безпеки, а також довгострокові домовленості щодо забезпечення безпеки України та Європи, щоб запобігти новим конфліктам, і підтримку повоєнного відновлення та економічного розвитку України, включаючи її вступ до ЄС», — написав Віткофф. ("The negotiations touched on a wide range of topics: short-term measures for winter preparation (energy system resilience and grain exports), security guarantees, as well as long-term agreements on ensuring the security of Ukraine and Europe to prevent new conflicts, and support for Ukraine's post-war recovery and economic development, including its accession to the EU," Witkoff wrote.)
