Official confirmation from Warsaw

The Polish Ministry of National Defence has confirmed its intention to transfer two MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. This was reported by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita, citing Dariusz Lukaszewski, a representative of the ministry. Although the exact date of the equipment transfer has not yet been disclosed, it is expected to take place in the near future.

Condition of the aviation equipment

According to the publication, one of the fighters has already exhausted its operational service life. In contrast, the second aircraft remains in service and continues to fly. These two MiG-29s could become part of the next package of military aid for Ukraine, details of which the Polish side is currently not disclosing.

Context of previous agreements

Previously, the possibility of exchanging aircraft for Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle technologies was discussed between the countries. However, this agreement was not implemented.
