Strategy for protecting the capital's transport infrastructure

Due to the constant threat of Russian strikes on bridge crossings over the Dnipro, the capital is considering the possibility of creating new alternative routes. This was stated by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Recovery Agency. The initiative aims to ensure the continuity of transport flows in the event of damage to existing communications.

Project parameters and priority facilities

The total length of the eight planned crossings in Kyiv will reach 12 kilometres. Although locations for their construction have already been selected, specific coordinates are not disclosed for security reasons. According to the information, two of the eight structures have been designated as top priority, meaning their construction will begin first.

Technical specifications and scale in Ukraine

Each new crossing will be equipped with two lanes of traffic. The primary purpose of these facilities will be to allow the passage of vehicular traffic, while the possibility of pedestrian movement is also provided for.

It is worth noting that these measures are part of nationwide plans. In total, Ukraine plans to build 21 similar crossings.
