Incident at Brzezo Beach

A violent attack on two Ukrainian citizens took place in the Polish city of Gdansk. According to local publication Puls Gdańska, the victims of the aggression were 19-year-old Olesya and her acquaintance. The conflict, the victim claims, arose over a Ukrainian song playing from her mobile phone, as well as offensive remarks directed at the young people regarding their origin.

Course of events and physical violence

According to Olesya's account, the events unfolded at a beach in the Brzezo district. A group of strangers began insulting her for being Ukrainian and demanded she return to her homeland. The verbal conflict subsequently escalated into physical violence. The aggressors knocked the girl's acquaintance to the ground and began kicking him.

When Olesya tried to help and was recording the attackers' actions on her phone camera, the violence did not stop. Later, near a tram stop, a glass bottle was thrown at the girl. It broke against the victim's head, and glass fragments entered the wound. Doctors stitched the injury.

Investigation and search for suspects

Polish law enforcement agencies are considering the version that the attack was committed on national grounds. At the end of August, the police released images of four individuals — three men and one woman — who are being sought within the framework of criminal proceedings.

The police statement contains appeals to citizens to help identify the individuals captured in the published footage. The provided statement contains no information about the detention of the suspects.
