Roksolana Velichkovska dreams of travelling to Russia

Ukrainian blogger caught in scandal after expressing desire to travel to Russia.

Ukrainian influencer and blogger Roksolana Velichkovska has become the centre of attention after an old video surfaced online in which she says: «Рашка рядом, я бы хотела туда, если честно, но х* меня там пустят»* ("Russia is nearby, I would like to go there, honestly, but will they let me in there?").

The clip dates back to 2022 — that is, after the start of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This is precisely what triggered a storm of reactions from users: many considered such words disrespectful to their own country.

Roksolana is known for her vibrant "luxury diva" image, the promotion of self-sufficiency and "successful success" on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Her content is built around themes of self-love, glamour and "luxury" aesthetics. However, some followers have long noticed that something more lies behind the perfect image.

Previously, rumours appeared online that the woman was allegedly linked to escort services, but there was no direct evidence of this. Later, an anonymous source published screenshots of her private correspondence with a man, which, according to witnesses, the blogger promptly deleted.

Users also noted another point — the contrast between Roksolana's image on social media and her actual manner of communication. In the comments under the video, they note: «В реальности она совсем не та утончённая особа, какой хочет казаться» ("In reality, she is not the refined lady she wants to appear to be"), «Слишком идеальный имидж — тревожный знак» ("A too-perfect image is a red flag").

Velichkovska herself later wrote in the comments that it was all a deception. But the internet remembers everything, and it will not be possible to blame this on artificial intelligence.
