Awards for actions during the incident

On 28 October, FlyDubai pilots were presented with awards in Abu Dhabi. This event was a consequence of their actions on 30 September, when they managed to stop an attempt to hijack the aircraft on a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

Crew identification

It emerged that two crew members played a key role in preventing the incident: Fiji citizen Henson Stephen and South African Republic citizen Rowen Thut. They were the pilots who effectively thwarted the hijacking attempt.

Debunking rumours of a cockpit fight

Previously, conflicting versions of events circulated in the media. Initially, reports suggested that the flight was on the brink of disaster due to a fight between two pilots, identified as a Russian and a Ukrainian. However, subsequent reports stated that no fight had taken place.

According to clarified data, the Russian and the Ukrainian allegedly saved the aircraft by incapacitating an Arab pilot who attempted to seize control of the plane.
