Peskov: Europe lacks prerequisites for a systematic resolution of the conflict

The Kremlin emphasised that the necessary conditions are currently absent for Europe to move towards a systematic approach in resolving the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Lack of new initiatives from European leaders

According to the Kremlin representative, during a phone call with Vladimir Putin, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre did not present new proposals for settling the conflict. Therefore, in Peskov's view, it is not yet possible to speak of a systematic settlement on the part of European countries.

Possible impact on negotiations in Abu Dhabi

Dmitry Peskov also drew attention to the fact that the conducted contact may have certain consequences for the course of contacts in Abu Dhabi. At the same time, he emphasised that it is premature to draw conclusions about possible changes in the diplomatic process at this stage.
