Personnel decision at the head of the special service

Oleksandr Poklad, head of the Security Service of Ukraine, has decided to dismiss two senior officials of the agency. These individuals have become subjects of a criminal case being conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau within the framework of the 'Carthage' operation.

SBU's position on the investigation

The Security Service emphasised that it fully supports and facilitates the execution of all necessary procedural actions within the relevant criminal cases. According to Oleksandr Poklad, the special service expects the investigation to be transparent, objective and impartial.

The head of the SBU stated that he had discussed the situation with the leadership of the NABU and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, highlighting the constructive nature of cooperation between these agencies.

International dimension of the case

In addition to internal procedures, Poklad noted that he maintains contact with colleagues from the special services of partner countries. He added that necessary measures are being taken to ensure the investigation of the specified crimes in other jurisdictions as well.

Appeal to the 'Mexican'

The head of the SBU paid particular attention to one of the subjects of the case, known by the nickname 'Mexican'. Poklad called on him to come to Ukraine and surrender to the law enforcement agencies. He assured that the Security Service would find him regardless of where he hides.

«СБУ працює та працюватиме тільки на Україну» (The SBU works and will work only for Ukraine), Oleksandr Poklad emphasised.
