Meladze responds to accusations by Eurovision finalist

The national selection final for Eurovision 2017 took place on Saturday. Although the young performer and X Factor winner MELOVIN won the public vote, he failed to secure overall victory due to a low score from the jury.

Yesterday, the young artist Kostya Bocharov, now known as MELOVIN, used his online page to accuse the judges and his stage colleagues of harboring hostility towards him.

Konstantin Meladze decided to respond to the singer's accusations. According to the producer, MELOVIN is still very "raw" and would not have been able to achieve a high placement in the competition. The high number of public votes is attributed to Bocharov's victory in X Factor, noting that he is unknown in Europe and would not have received votes there.

Meladze noted that MELOVIN needs to change almost everything, from his image to reworking the song and its arrangement.

At the same time, the producer hinted that he could help the performer represent the country with dignity at the competition.
