Businessman's response to investigation's arguments
At the latest court hearing, Ihor Kolomoyskyi expressed sharp criticism of the position taken by prosecution representatives, who insisted on the risk of him fleeing the country. The accused emphasised that he has no intention of leaving Ukraine and questioned the validity of such claims by the state prosecution.
According to Kolomoyskyi, the current formulation of the argument regarding the threat of flight "sounds, at the very least, ridiculous". He drew attention to the precedent of former Prosecutor General Yuriy Kravchenka leaving the country.
Question of the absence of PPO heads
"During my time, in the course of this case, this is already the third Prosecutor General, and there was also a dear pair of acting officials. So when the prosecution talks about someone fleeing, I would like to ask: where are the previous four Prosecutors General? They are all abroad. Especially where is the last one? Is he on Ukrainian territory? So who fled? We do not know how life will turn out, but I am not going to flee anywhere. So that the entire prosecution does not flee together. Whether to Lviv, as in '22, or even further," Kolomoyskyi stated.
Citizenship status
In addition, during the hearing, Kolomoyskyi confirmed that he holds Israeli citizenship. At the same time, he noted that the validity period of his Israeli passport has already expired.
The businessman also informed that courts are currently considering lawsuits regarding the cancellation of the presidential decree depriving him of Ukrainian citizenship.
