Dmitry Yaroshenko explains his departure abroad

Ukrainian actor Dmitry Yaroshenko, who became famous for his role as Vasyl Stus in the film "Forbidden", has spoken about the reasons for his departure abroad. 

In an interview, the artist explained that he received an invitation to participate in an "important international project in Europe". This decision was made back in October 2022, when the actor managed to leave Ukraine.

Security and mobility: the decision not to return home

Yaroshenko emphasised that his departure was officially authorised by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. However, upon his return, the artist feared that he might be mobilised. Amidst uncertainty, security concerns, the lack of clear timelines, and the shocking events he had witnessed in the country, Yaroshenko decided to remain abroad and continue working on his current project.

The film star became widely known in Ukraine for his role in the film "Forbidden", where he portrayed the legendary Ukrainian poet and dissident Vasyl Stus. This role brought Yaroshenko significant recognition, and participation in international projects became an important stage in his career.
