Most journalists will not be able to attend Eurovision 2017

Contrary to claims that all organisational issues for the Eurovision 2017 song contest have been resolved to a high standard, the reality is quite different. As it turns out, the majority of journalists will not be able to attend the contest.

A total of approximately 600 applications were submitted by media representatives, of which fewer than one-third were approved. Only 200 journalists received accreditation, while there was simply no space for the rest. For most events, such companies are offered the option of purchasing an entry ticket. However, a number of events are indeed free of charge. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that representatives of the foreign press will manage to obtain visas and fly in for them.

Among the media outlets that will not be able to cover the event are both Ukrainian and foreign journalists.
