Refusal to supply outdated munitions

Spain and Greece have refused to hand over missiles for Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine, which are nearing the end of their service life. As The Daily Telegraph notes, citing sources, Kyiv could have used these munitions to strengthen its own air defence.

Situation in Greece

According to the publication, Greece has around 200 PAC-2 variant missiles that are approaching the end of their 23-year service life.

Spain's position

The exact number of such missiles in Spain is unknown. However, last month Madrid stated its readiness to hand over five missiles for Patriot to Ukraine.
