Wife of Head of MIA Service Centre Roman Isak earns millions

The wife of Roman Isak, Head of the Zakarpattia Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), has transformed into a successful entrepreneur in a short period. While her husband continued to work in a state structure, her income amounted to millions.

Declaration: property in relatives' names, business in wife's name

Roman Isak lives with his family in the village of Minai in Zakarpattia region. The declaration lists his wife Oksana (maiden name Hryhorik) and two children. Notably, most of the real estate is officially registered in the names of relatives:

• A land plot (850 sq. m) – owned by Halyna Hryhorik (acquired in 2014).

• Another plot (150 sq. m) – owned by Vasyl Hryhorik (acquired in 2014).

• A house (208 sq. m) – also registered in the name of Halyna Hryhorik (acquired in 2015).

• The only property registered in Roman Isak's own name is an apartment in Uzhhorod (73 sq. m), purchased in 2023 for 1.5 million UAH.

Million-dollar car fleet: where did the funds come from?

The official's family owns six vehicles, with the majority registered in the wife's name:

• Two Volvo FH trucks (2015 and 2010 models) – 1.87 million and 1.03 million UAH respectively.

• Two trailers (Kögel and Krone) – 838,000 and 464,000 UAH.

• Two passenger cars: Volkswagen e-Golf (550,000 UAH) and Audi A6 (price not specified).

It is noteworthy that four heavy-duty vehicles were acquired in 2022 almost simultaneously, and Oksana Isak registered as a sole proprietor with the business activity "freight transportation". Prior to 2022, she was not officially employed, receiving only social benefits.

Financial discrepancies and questions regarding the declaration

Roman Isak's income for 2024 was 509,000 UAH, while his wife earned 3.4 million UAH. However, in 2022, when expensive equipment was purchased, her official income did not correspond to such expenditures.

The declaration also states that the official repaid 400,000 UAH of a loan twice in October 2024, but the loan itself is not listed in the liabilities section. This may indicate either its full settlement or an error in the reporting.
