Los Angeles authorities were prepared for the fire

Los Angeles found itself in a difficult situation when it faced not one, but four major fires simultaneously. Despite a high level of preparedness, the city was not ready for a threat of such scale.

According to The New York Times, one of the fire captains noted that in the midst of the crisis, "too many homes needed protection, and there were not enough trucks," which significantly complicated the fight against the flames.

Although fire services claim they were prepared for possible emergencies, the force of nature proved stronger, casting doubt on the effectiveness of current emergency response methods. 

In particular, questions are being raised about both the quantity of resources and the approaches to firefighting, given the increasing intensity of the blazes.

The fires, which have resulted in the deaths of at least 11 people and destroyed thousands of homes, have prompted questions about the adequacy of funding and resources allocated to fire services at various levels — from federal to municipal. 

The effectiveness of existing technologies and firefighting methods is also being actively discussed, as large-scale fires have become a common occurrence in California over the past few decades.
