A scandal erupted around the financial company Globalmoney a few days ago. It emerged that the payment system operates in the occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. The information was confirmed by the websites of the so-called LNR.
However, no sanctions were imposed by law enforcement agencies or the NBU. Veterans of the ATO intervened in the situation. They staged a protest action at the walls of the National Bank, demanding a ban on Globalmoney’s operations and restrictions on its cooperation with Ukrainian banks.
It is worth noting that a number of the country’s financial institutions independently refused to work with the company. However, that was all. In other words, these measures did not prevent Globalmoney from continuing its activities, cashing out funds in rubles in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The only change was that rumours emerged in the occupied territories that Globalmoney’s services might become slightly more expensive.
It should be noted that the payment system’s page on the social network VKontakte continued to display calls for residents of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts to make transfers “from any bank in Russia” until the very end.
Recall that Globalmoney is owned by former minister during Yavych’s tenure – Kolobov, and Yura Enakiievskyi, who own the enterprise through JSC "Closed Undiversified Venture Corporate Investment Fund".
