Plane catches fire at Simferopol airport

Late last night, another incident involving a Russian aircraft occurred at Simferopol airport.

A fire broke out on a Red Wings aircraft just before takeoff. Passengers who had arrived at the boarding bridge watched in horror as flames erupted from the tail of the plane. Firefighters arrived on the scene immediately and extinguished the fire.

Three hours later, passengers, still shaken by what they had witnessed, were offered the option to fly on the same aircraft. Many decided not to take the risk and declined. However, the airline refused to refund their ticket costs.

The plane was scheduled to fly from Simferopol to Moscow.
