Ukrainian team wins at NASA hackathon

Kyiv project recognised as the best among thousands of participants worldwide
A team from Kyiv won the prestigious NASA Space Apps Challenge hackathon, outperforming more than 10,000 teams comprising approximately 90,000 participants from around the world. 

Their innovative project, titled NVS Knot, received an award for the “greatest potential to improve life on Earth and in the Universe” (greatest potential to improve life on Earth and in the Universe).

A project that will transform agriculture
NVS Knot uses Earth observation satellite data for decision-making in the agricultural sector. The team’s development is aimed at optimising agricultural processes, making it relevant both on Earth and in the conditions of future space missions.

How participants were evaluated
NASA reviewed approximately 1,000 projects to select the winners. The Kyiv team not only impressed the agency’s experts but also stood out among numerous competitors thanks to the innovative approach and practical value of their idea.

About the NASA Space Apps Challenge hackathon
Every year, this international hackathon attracts top minds from around the world who solve real scientific and technological challenges. At the end of the competition, the 10 best projects receive global awards.

 The Ukrainian team’s victory in such a large-scale competition is a significant achievement, highlighting the high level of domestic developers.
